July 30th

Today I sat on the couch and read A Wind in the Door until I was done with it. It was very good and I can't wait to read the next one.
All I can think about when I read it is, "This would be such and awesome movie." But they would be very difficult to make well.
There was a bad Disney version of A Wrinkle in Time.
L'engle (the author, of course) was interviewed about the movie and when asked "Did it meet your expectations?" She answered "Yes, I expected it to be bad, and it is."

Then I read Hitchcock by Francois Truffaut, which is also a wonderful book. He talks about his entire career in depth. Right now I am reading about the movie Spellbound (1945), on which he collaborated with Salvador Dali. Dali did the production design in the dream sequences.

Then I practiced Moonlight Sonata on a broken electric organ.

After that Rand and I went to HEB, came home and made salmon caesar salad.
We watched some of The Office season 3, went to the library, checked out 3 movies including Spellbound and went back to watch some more of The Office.
Then I drove home.
